CHEERS TO OUR WARRIORS.
This year, we lost heroes and heroines, not all wore uniforms, but each bore invisible scars.
To those who fought and could not win the battle, you are not losers;
You are victors and victorious in ways the world may never see. Even without a battlefield, you faced storms within your hearts, and that courage will always echo.
Tsuma…I still remember calling you Daddy, your laughter carrying warmth through the cold corridors of the NHIF Westlands office. You said I shared your daughter’s name; perhaps that’s why you treated me as if I were your own.
I was young, fragile, lost between purpose and place. But you, you anchored me, guiding, teasing, teaching, even when the distance stretched between various offices I went to, and even when in India. Your spirit never left the conversation.
Now, you rest. Your fight is done, and peace has found you. Still, your lessons linger in the quiet spaces of memory, between work and laughter, between heartbeats and silence.
To those still fighting, we pray for strength, for resilience, for the light that carries you through long nights.
Here’s to the ones we’ve lost, and to the ones still standing.
Cheers to our warriors, the silent, the brave, the unseen!
